No sooner had I written about the (possible) upcoming release of iOS 4.3 with personal hotspot facility when I found out that another hugely important feature possibly looks like being added to the iPad 2 and iPhone 5 too. The change, which will make a lot of people very happy, is the fact that you will now be able to control the iOS devices using a variety of simple gestures. This way you can carry out orders simply and efficiently by swiping, flicking and varying the number of fingers you use.

Angry Birds is a puzzle video game developed by Finland-based Rovio Mobile, in which players use a slingshot to launch birds at pigs stationed on or within various structures, with the intent of destroying all the pigs on the playfield. Inspired by a simple sketch of stylized wingless birds, the game was first released for Apple's iOS in December 2009. The iPhone 4G Apple's iPhone has been the subject of much annoyance for many already in 2011 -- and it's only Jan. 3. A 'Year 2000"-esque bug suppressed the alarm function of the iPhone on January 1 and 2 for iPhone owners who set single day alarms on those dates. Apple spokeswoman Natalie Harrison told Reuters in an e-mail, "We're aware of an issue related to non-repeating alarms set for January 1 or 2. Customers can set recurring alarms for those dates and all alarms will work properly beginning January 3." However, many overslept on Jan. 3 after the 'self fix' appears to have failed once again. Although jailbreaking and unlocking both provide added benefits to an iPhone, jailbreaking a mobile phone is different from unlocking. As a Samsung Galaxy S smartphone owner (specifically, the T-Mobile Vibrant S), I was eager to get my hands on a Galaxy Tab from Verizon Wireless and smudge up the 7-inch touchscreen a bit. To be fair, I had reservations about the Tab from the first time I heard it was coming. My Galaxy S phone, although a nice piece of hardware, has lacked in the software department. Nearly five months later, I'm (and the rest of the United States) is still awaiting an Android 2.2 update promised numerous times, and the Samsung TouchWiz UI its a bit cumbersome and prone to lag.

Developers supporting the various mobile operating systems on the market are crucial to their success. For instance, without developers, Apple’s App Store would never have gotten as popular as it is today as there would be no Doodle Jump and certainly no Angry Birds. Luckily, there are a whole slew of dedicated developers producing software for iOS and Google’s Android is no different.
