No home button anymore for iPad 2 and iPhone 5?

No sooner had I written about the (possible) upcoming release of iOS 4.3 with personal hotspot facility when I found out that another hugely important feature possibly looks like being added to the iPad 2 and iPhone 5 too. The change, which will make a lot of people very happy, is the fact that you will now be able to control the iOS devices using a variety of simple gestures. This way you can carry out orders simply and efficiently by swiping, flicking and varying the number of fingers you use.

Over 50 million downloads: Angry Birds from wikipedia

Image
Angry Birds is a puzzle video game developed by Finland-based Rovio Mobile, in which players use a slingshot to launch birds at pigs stationed on or within various structures, with the intent of destroying all the pigs on the playfield. Inspired by a simple sketch of stylized wingless birds, the game was first released for Apple's iOS in December 2009. Since that time, over 12 million copies of the game have been purchased from Apple's App Store, which has prompted the company to design versions for other touchscreen-based smartphones, including those using the Android and the Symbian^3 operating systems. Rovio Mobile has supported Angry Birds with numerous free updates that add additional game content, and the company has even released stand-alone holiday versions of the game. Its popularity led to versions of Angry Birds being created for personal computers and gami...

Video: Hacked iPhone 3G running dual boot Android 2.3 Gingerbread & iOS

Are you tired of hearing about Android versus iPhone? All the forums and fanboys always bickering about which is the better smartphone, which has the best features, etc, etc, etc. I say, let there be peace. You can have both if you want. How? Install Android Gingerbread on an iPhone 3G, that’s how. In the video sen below, we have proof that someone hacked an iPhone3G and installed Android 2.3 on it. How cool is that?! I think it’s safe to say that the iPhones are always trendsetters when it comes to packing the new technology inside, so why not load the best software on it too.

Did you oversleep today? Blame your iPhone

The iPhone 4G Apple's iPhone has been the subject of much annoyance for many already in 2011 -- and it's only Jan. 3. A 'Year 2000"-esque bug suppressed the alarm function of the iPhone on January 1 and 2 for iPhone owners who set single day alarms on those dates. Apple spokeswoman Natalie Harrison told Reuters in an e-mail, "We're aware of an issue related to non-repeating alarms set for January 1 or 2. Customers can set recurring alarms for those dates and all alarms will work properly beginning January 3." However, many overslept on Jan. 3 after the 'self fix' appears to have failed once again. PlayStation App on the way to Android and iPhone

Tens of thousands of early Windows Phone 7 adopters are enjoying connectivity with their Xbox Live account, but that's going to seem like small potatoes when Sony delivers PlayStation integration to millions of existing smartphone owners. The PlayStation app is going to revolutionize the mobile game space. At least, that's what Sony hopes. In this world of iPhone and Android gaming, it only makes sense for the juggernauts of console gaming to start making a presence.
